African Christian Democratic Party president Kenneth Meshoe has challenged President Kgalema Motlanthe to "stand by his word to correct any war talk".
Meshoe said he had raised his concern with Motlanthe over the "kill talk" by ANC members and "he promised that any war talk would be corrected immediately".
He said recent death threats by ANC members against former ANC leaders, including Mosiuoa Lekota and former Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa, were worrying.
"Motlanthe should speak out against violence and reprisals," Meshoe said. "He should censure individuals guilty of criminal incitement and contrary to the peace we desire for prosperity in South Africa." - Mhlaba Memela
