Five Limpopo primary school pupils were allegedly repeatedly raped for months while they were high on glue and dagga.

Police said the children, aged between 10 and 14, were raped by four men. It is alleged that the rapes have been going on since January.

The children are pupils at a primary school in Ga-Botha village near Dennilton in the Moutse area of Limpopo.

The children are allegedly so addicted to glue that they sell their bodies to men old enough to be their fathers and grandfathers for R20.

Police spokesman, Superintendent Jackson Tlemo, said these shenanigans came to light when one of the pupils recruited two of her schoolmates to join them.

"But when the new recruits saw what their peers were doing with old men, they ran away and alerted their teachers.

"Police were called and the suspects, who live close to the victims, were arrested at their homes," Tlemo said.

He said the children told the police this activity had been going on since early this year. The children claimed that they smoked dagga and sniffed glue before engaging in sex with the men. He said the sexual trysts normally take place after school and at weekends.

The suspects, Ben Sekanka, 42, Cornelious Moselakgomo, 65, Jacob Selala, 28, and Steven Tlantla, 29, were not asked to plead when they appeared in the Moutse magistrate's court last week.

They were remanded in custody and will appear in court again soon for bail applications.
