South African jazz master and world renowned pianist Abdullah Ibrahim has done it again after an absence of 10 years.

Ibrahim has just released a new solo album, and is to tour the country next month.

The jazz guru's new album has a spiritual dimension as represented by the meaning of the title.

This landmark record is titled Senzo, which means ancestor in both Chinese and Japanese and also echoes the name of Ibrahim's Mosotho father, in whose language the word translates as deed.

"Senzo is a journey through sound - striving towards our individual and collective home," Ibrahim says.

The three-cities South African tour gives Ibrahim's fans the chance to hear him perform solo live.

Ibrahim's tour will take off in Cape Town at Arts Cape on November 1.

Then it goes to Jazz Centre at the University of KwaZulu-Natal campus on November 5 and 6.

On November 7 he performs at the Wits University Great Hall.
