LONDON - British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has condemned the killing of an aid worker in Kabul as a "barbaric act".
Gayle Williams, 34, a British-South African dual national, was killed by the Taliban on Monday in the Afghan capital. The aid worker was shot by two gunmen on a motorcycle while she walked to work.
Taliban militants said they carried out the murder because Williams worked for a group that "preached Christianity", a claim the charity, Serve Afghanistan, has rebutted.
Brown told lawmakers yesterday: "This was a barbaric act by the Taliban against someone who was devoted to improving the lives of ordinary Afghans." - Sapa-AFP
