The body of a man that went missing from a mortuary in Ladysmith has been found and finally buried.
Jerome Nxumalo died of natural causes. His body was taken to a private mortuary but could not be found for three weeks.
After a tireless search by his grieving family it emerged last Friday that the body had been accidentally buried by another family. His body was exhumed on Monday at the Tebeteni cemetery and reburied on Tuesday.
But the police have another headache now.
Police spokesman Charmaine Struwig said the woman who buried Nxumalo insists that the body left in the mortuary is not that of her boyfriend.
"We haven't decided what we're going to do with it," she said.
