The South African Football Association will engage SABC Sport on November 22 to discuss various aspects around the coverage of Bafana Bafana and other national teams.

This was revealed by Raymond Hack, Safa's chief executive, yesterday from Berlin after finalising an international friendly with Germany's national team.

"Our meeting with them will deal with the coverage of the games and all the other related stuff, including kickoff times," Hack said.

The meeting comes at a time when South Africans are angry with Safa for acceding to an SABC decision to start showing the midweek night games live at 8.30.

Supporters across the country have urged the two parties to consider that people have to go to work and school the following day.

The SABC insists on showing the Bafana Bafana games live from 8.30pm because they don't want to tamper with the popular soapie, Generations.

The public broadcaster had made it clear that it cannot show the games live at 8pm because Generations was generating more money for them.

Generations is shown daily on SABC1 from 8pm to 8.30pm.

"That's the only time SABC informed us that they can show the midweek games, otherwise it will be delayed late at night," added Hack.

On the friendly against Germany, Hack said: "We have just concluded the deal to play them here [in Germany] on September 5 next year.

"That game against the Germans will also be part of our preparations for the 2010 World Cup."

Meanwhile, Safa has confirmed that Bafana Bafana will play a friendly against neighbours Namibia at Kimberley Stadium on November 4 at 4pm.

Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana and his lieutenants are expected to select players from Premier Soccer League clubs for that game.

Santana is expected to announce the team to play Namibia next week.

Subsequent to that, the foreign legion will be back for the Mandela Challenge against Cameroon at Olympia Park, Rustenburg, on November 19.

Kickoff for that match is at 8.30pm.
