Those who in the past missed the acclaimed play Out of Bounds have no reason to despair.

This is because the production, which toured extensively overseas, will be staged at the Old Mutual Theatre on the Square next month.

This award-winning play, written and performed by Rajesh Gopie, pictured, will open for a short season on October 28 and will run for three weeks.

The production, starring the playwright himself, opens after acclaimed European and North American tours.

Audiences in New York, London, Cardiff, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Madrid, Frankfurt and Dublin are said to have been left gasping by the brilliance of the story-telling, its side-splitting humour and extraordinary acting.

Most audiences are said to have been moved to tears by the humanity of a truly rare, engrossing and memorable theatre experience.

In the play Gopie runs the gamut of emotions to bring to life some 28 characters as he entertains, with dazzling craft and skill. The play was tempered and structured under the directing hand of Tina Johnson.

The play transcends the myopia of race and culture and has been hailed as a classic in the vein of Woza Albert, The Island, Herman Charles Bosman and Paul Slab.
