Eleven men were arrested in connection with the death of a 31-year-old man in Bityi near Mthatha, Eastern Cape police said yesterday.
Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said a man was found dead in Bityi at about 8.30pm on Tuesday with burn marks on his back.
The motive for the murder was being investigated but police suspected that an argument started at a nearby tavern.
The tavern owner was also being sought by police for questioning because the dead man was found in her yard and she may be charged along with the other eleven.
The men are to appear before the Mthatha magistrate's court today on a charge of murder, Fatyela said. - Sapa
