Seshego in daring raid

Seshego Raiders surprised other clubs and even themselves when they climbed to the top spot in the Limpopo Softball Association LimDev Super League on Sunday at Mamaolo Rebels diamonds.

The Seshego-based side walloped early pacesetters Ledwaba Giant Elephants 11-2 in their opening match and went on to thrash Kalkspruit Red Scorpions 7-4.

Raiders' ascent was made easier by the absence of league top dogs defending champions Seleteng Giant Killers, Mahwelereng Spikes, Lebowakgomo Wild Beasts and Moletlane Texas.

Elephants continued with their poor display when they were pipped 7-14 by Scorpions.

The only ladies match, between Naledi Spiders and University of Limpopo, ended in a 11-11 draw.

"We are impressed by the high standard displayed by the clubs and wish that the same spirit could continue throughout the season.

"We are further calling on the supporters to rally behind their clubs," Polelo Masola, LSA's secretary-general said yesterday.

Results: Scorpions 14, Elephants 7; Raiders 11, Elephants 2; Spiders 11, University of Limpopo 11; Raiders 7, Scorpions 4.
