Naomi Gumede, a teacher at the Esizibeni Secondary School in Memel, Free State, came out tops for her skill at imparting IT knowledge to pupils and her community.

She was named Super Teacher of the Year by the Internet Service Providers' Association of SA (ISPA) and UniForum SA.

This was announced in Fourways, Johannesburg, recently. Gumede took part in ISPA's teacher training programme.

"I am humbled by this award and feel a great sense of achievement," Gumede said. "As teachers it is our responsibility to set an example for the communities in which we live. I feel even more confident now in my role."
