Lamontville Golden Arrows, who have not won silverware in the Premiership, have vowed to go the extra mile in the lucrative Telkom Knockout this season.
Spokesman Zwelethu Mzolo said yesterday that they were sick and tired of being also-rans and have vowed to make this season their best.
Abafana Besithende host Kaizer Chiefs in the last 16 of the competition and they believe a win against Amakhosi could see them contesting the final.
"We're playing at Chatsworth, which is our happy hunting ground, so we're going to spare no effort to see us through to the last eight," Mzolo said.
"The spirit is high among the players and the team itself is playing as a unit."
The coastal side is playing thrilling football.
They have changed all their strategies and are determined to lift one of the trophies on offer this season.
The guys have been playing together for some time now and they know each other well.
The only new player in their fold is Brazilian striker Italio Fernandez and Siyabonga Vesi from their development ranks.
Arrows are solid, from their defence right to their attack, and they have shown some signs of maturity since the season started.
Their midfield will be marshalled by Kagisho Dikgacoi whose experience has seen the side beating top sides in the league.
They also have a good defence manned by Siya Sangweni and Joseph Musonda who are playing extremely well.
Arrows stand a chance of going through to the next round if unchecked.
Though Chiefs are reputed to be a formidable side when it comes to knockout competitions, they may be facing an insurmountable task.
Mzolo said tickets are available at Computicket outlets. He is also urging fans to buy their tickets as soon as possible because the stadium's capacity is only 15000.
