Jackson van Tonder Chauke made a positive entry to the professional boxing arena on Tuesday night when he overwhelmed Zandisile Twani with speed and power in two rounds of their flyweight fight that was scheduled for four.

Chauke was the same only amateur fighter to represent South Africa in the Olympics in Beijing in August. The flyweight from Tembisa was eliminated by Anvar Yunusov in the first round.

Chauke's fight with Twani, who suffered his fifth defeat against four wins, took place at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace.

Ashley Dlamini, Chauke's stablemate in trainer Colin Nathan's camp, defeated Hendrick Makholwani on points over four rounds.

Owethu Mbira, another of Nathan's fighters, beat Tyson Sixhakuma in the dying moments of the fourth round.

Meanwhile, Mfundo Wongo went down as if he was shot. He remained there until he was counted out after being flattened by Thomas Oosthuizen in the super middleweight class.

In the main contest, Danile Botman was expected to be a sacrificial lamb to Warren Joubert but he gave Joubert a hard time, stubbornly hanging on until the seventh round when the referee stopped the brutality.

Joubert improved to eight stoppages from nine wins while Botman dropped to 15 losses against 13 wins.
