Police in Seshego have made a breakthrough after arresting Limpopo's most wanted criminal.
Reuben Moloto was wanted in connection with several cases that include murder, armed robberies, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and intimidation.
Moloto, 39, allegedly called the commander of detectives in Seshego and threatened to "blow off" his head and those of other officers investigating his cases.
He was arrested in Tshwane on Sunday night. He is currently being held in the Seshego police holding cells.
Seshego police spokesman Sergeant Mothemane Malefo said Moloto had been calling police and boasting about how elusive he would be and threatening to kill members investigating his cases.
"We see the arrest of Moloto as a major breakthrough as he has been giving us sleepless nights," said Malefo.
"The man had been evading us big time. He also had the nerve to phone us and tell us how he would see us running around looking for him.
"He also told us we would never arrest him."
Malefo said among other crimes Moloto allegedly committed were armed robberies at business premises in Seshego, Polokwane and Senwabarwana.
They were checking with other stations that might have been on the lookout for Moloto.
