Worship from the heart is what matters

As Christians we must learn to worship God for what He has done in our lives.

But if the focus is ourselves, then our worship is fake, Pastor Joe Seoloane said yesterday.

Seoloane, senior pastor of the Good News of Hope Ministries, was preaching at Chief Albert Luthuli Park in Ekurhuleni.

"God expects our worship to him to be genuine and for it to be expressed with all our hearts," said Seolane.

He also advised that before Christians can start to worship God, they must first make sure that their sins have been redeemed.

"When we worship God, we must be able to sense his presence in our hearts," he said.

"God will be pleased with our worship when we are genuine.

"We must worship him in spirit, in truth and with feeling.

"We must also mean what we say."

Seoloane also reminded the congregation that when God responds to our worship, He is not concerned with a person's outward appearance but with their soul.
