Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Change always brings renewed hope and the opportunity to do things differently to achieve better results.
Similarly, there is a strong hope that the appointment of Barbara Hogan as the new minister of health will drill a new sense of purposefulness into a department that has drawn more criticism than praise under the political leadership of Manto Tshabalala-Msimang during the past decade.
That Hogan has vowed to "get things right" in providing treatments for HIV-Aids will surely improve rapprochement between the ministry and its legion of detractors.
We wish the new minister all the success in her efforts to tackle many of the country's health problems.
