There will be a lot more than pride at stake in Sunday's Absa Premiership clash between Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs at the Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg.
Both sides will be going like hell to grab the three points on offer in what is bound to be a no-holds-barred encounter.
The Birds are on form and so are Amakhosi. So if their recent performances are anything to go by, their supporters must brace themselves for a thrilling game.
Swallows captain Lefa Tsutsulupa said: "The team is playing well and the spirit is high among the players. So we're going out there for the full points."
Chiefs captain Jimmy Tau said they were all looking forward to an interesting game.
"This is a completely different ball game. They beat us in the MTN8 second leg semifinal, but that is behind us. What we need are the three valuable points on offer."
Of much concern to Swallows' fans is their team's inconsistency. They may be deadly on their day, but it will be difficult for punters to bet on them.
They have amassed a bunch of talented youngsters who are playing well. But, seemingly, the sight of the Chiefs jersey sometimes instils the fear of God in the Birds' hearts.
Swallows' goalkeeper Greg Etafia has lost his form and needs to be rested. Odwa Pato should be introduced for this game.
The Birds have solid and exciting midfield players in Tsutsulupa, Mark Haskins and Cecil Oerson who have been on top of their game.
It will be interesting to see how David Radebe will perform when he comes face to face with his former team for the first time this season. He is becoming a hot potato for opposing defences to handle, but he needs to contain himself when in the box.
Amakhosi are upbeat, their mental readiness and fitness could see them bagging the full points. They also have a solid midfield manned by Tinashe Nengomashe, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Gert Schalkwyk.
Jose Torrealba up front will be getting supply from Gert Schalkwyk, who has been outstanding in that position although he lacks pace.
