Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
A 10-year-old deaf and mute boy was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old female domestic worker at his aunt's home early this week.
The incident occurred at the house of the boy's aunt in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, on Monday when the boy was sent to go and look for his aunt.
On arrival at the house, he found the domestic worker alone.
Superintendent Abie Khoabane said police were investigating a case of rape against the domestic worker.
Khoabane said when the boy arrived, the domestic worker allegedly took him into the house and raped him.
"The boy returned home with blood on his clothes and explained to his mother, in sign language, what the woman did to him."
Ermelo police spokesman Captain Carla Prinsloo confirmed that police were investigating the domestic worker.
She said, however, that the woman was not arrested.Police only took a statement from her as well as blood samples for DNA tests.
