LONDON - Luiz Felipe Scolari is determined to ensure Romanian minnows CFR Cluj don't sink their teeth into Chelsea in today's Champions League clash.
Scolari's side are firm favourites to return from Transylvania with all three points after thrashing Bordeaux 4-0 in their Group A opener. It would be easy for Scolari's collection of superstars to expect a similar scoreline when they travel to the birthplace of Dracula, but the Chelsea boss won't let the Premier League leaders underestimate Cluj.
The Romanian champions, making their debut in Europe's elite club competition, made an instant impact on Matchday One by winning 2-1 at Roma, and Scolari knows they are desperate to do the same against Chelsea as well. "The Bordeaux game was a good experience for us but the game against Cluj will be different," Scolari said.
"I don't need to remind the players of anything because they know about points.
"It's very important because if we win we will be in a very good position. I have a lot of information about Cluj because I think they have about 11 Portuguese players. I have told my players what to expect.
"It's important to try to win this match away from home. If they beat us, then they will have two more home games to come and it could be a difficult situation for us.
"If Cluj can win away from home, then we are in danger."
While most Chelsea fans would struggle to name a single Cluj player, Scolari is well aware of the Romanians' quality. - Sapa-AFP
