Twenty-eight female guards were unfairly dismissed by a security company because the client‚ Metrora.
The country's top athletes will take to the stage when they compete in the Ultimate Showdown Body Building and Figure Championships at Montecasino, Fourways, next month.
The competition starts at 4pm and ends with a banquet at 8pm on October 25. This event will also be contested by participants from other countries who will join about 30 of the country's top athletes.
This is a prestigious event as participation is by invitation only and will see the winner in each category walking away with a large cash prize.
The bodybuilding winner in the men's category will receive R50000, while the ladies figure winner will receive R30000. Second and third placed in each category will also receive cash prizes.
Some of the big names that have won this championship before are Arthur Baron, the 2007 International Federation of Bodybuilders of SA overall champion, Chris Pillay, the 2004 (IFBB SA) overall champion and the ever popular Shameen Adams, multiple IFBB SA overall Champion, Phillippa Lamont Wilkie, multiple IFBB SA Fitness and Figure Champion, Andrea Meterlekamp, a five times IFBB SA Body Fitness champion and two times World Physique Federation (WPF) Figure champion and Irene Alley the two times IFBB SA Body Building champion. Entertainment will consist of a fire dancing act, a fashion show and singing by Matthew Stewardson and Daniel Baron.
