Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Innocent "Ayobayo" Mayoyo is adamant that his team has what it takes to win the National First Division Inland Stream league and gain promotion to the Absa Premiership next season.

He said their narrow 1-0 win over Absa Premiership league returnees Black Leopards on Friday at Puma Stadium in Witbank was a great morale booster to his players. The solitary goal was scored by Kanika Matondo late in the second half.

"We did not start well. We threw away four points. This win was a real booster and means a lot. My priority - my mandate from the Aces management - this season is to win the league and get automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership," said Mayoyo.

Aces have yet to lose a game in the league after playing to a 2-all draw against University of Pretoria and 3-3 against FC AK.

Elsewhere, Aces' Mpumalanga rivals, Witbank Spurs, collected their first points when they defeated Winners Park 2-1.

Meanwhile Ikapa Sporting FC coach Sergio Do Santos was unhappy with the decision of officials in their NFD Coastal stream outing against Carara Kicks. The game was played at Welkom Club Stadium at the weekend.

The Cape Town-based team lost 1-0 to the newcomers, courtesy of a goal by striker Kingston Nkatha, who scored from a set-piece in the second stanza.

A disgruntled Do Santos stormed onto the pitch immediately after the final whistle, accusing assistant referee Thulani Gumede of incompetence.

The former Cape Town Spurs' defender disputed referee Gumede's decision.
