The moment Grammy award-winning singer Tamia went on stage on Saturday night at the Jazz Dome in Newtown, she had the crowd eating out of the palm of her hand.

The R&B star was in the country for the Arts Alive festivities this month and performed on Friday and Saturday.

Thoughthe Jazz Dome is not a big venue the gig was not well attended.

The concert started on time with promising local singer Tamasha, though her performance was lukewarm.

Tamasha was followed by Keabetswe Motsilenyane, aka KB, who is known for having an energetic stage presence.

Her performance was out of this world and she left the stage after an exhilarating 45 minutes.

The audience had to wait 40 minutes for Tamia. J ust when they were impatiently starting to shout her name she came out and dazzled the crowd - as she had in 2005.

She performed favourite songs that included Me So into You, Stranger In My House, Put a Move On My Heart.

Her performance was impeccable and she left the crowd begging for more.
