First impressions last longer - and that's exactly what rookies Bay United plan to do to win more support in the Eastern Cape.

Affectionately known as Wavuth' Umlilo, United welcome goal-shy Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership game at Port Elizabeth Stadium on Sunday at 3.30pm.

Owned by business tycoon and former political activist Sipho Pityana, United have warned Pirates to stop dreaming about tasting their first league victory at their expense.

The ambitious Pityana has shown his seriousness to do well in their first season by acquiring an array of experienced players to beef-up the team.

The new-look United started the season on a promising note by holding Moroka Swallows to a 1-1 draw in Rustenburg.

In their following game, however, United were hammered 3-0 by Santos away. Guided by Serbian Vladislav Heric, United will be inspired by the presence of multitudes of people who are expected to watch the game.

Pirates are also desperate for their first win after they gained only one point in their opening two games. Bucs lost 0-1 in their first match against Lamontville Golden Arrows, and went on to draw 0-0 with BidVest Wits.

Sunday's game will be the second between the two sides after Pirates welcomed United into the Premiership by beating them 3-1 in a friendly. Pirates coach Rudolf Krol will keep his fingers crossed that his charges will not continue with their lack of appetite for goals.

Cape Verde international striker Jerry Adriano Pires looks set to start the game after coming on as a substitute in their match against BidVest Wits.

Besides the new recruits, United have good players like Luntu Mazana, ironically on loan from Pirates, Linos Chalwe, Jimmy Zakazaka and Gareth Ncaca.

Meanwhile, Lamontville Golden Arrows return to King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi tomorrow fired-up to keep their winning rhythm.

Abafana Bes'thende take on Platinum Stars in a Premiership match. Led by the imposing Bafana Bafana strongman Kagisho Dikgacoi, Arrows are still unbeaten in the league to date after two games where they pocketed four points.
