Lebowakgomo Wild Beasts softball club tasted the top spot of the Limpopo Softball Association's LimDev Super League following their good runs over the weekend at Seshego Diamonds.

Beasts toppled early pacesetters and the league's returnees, Ledwaba Giant Elephants, who were walloped 1-27 by defending champions Seleteng Giant Killers.

Beasts lead the log through their good runs of 30 with six points from two matches, against second-placed Mahwelereng Spikes' 29 runs with same number of points and matches.

During their opening match, Beasts walloped Mmotong Lions 7-1 before they completed their day with a 24-9 victory over the hosts, Seshego Cannons.

Seshego Raiders also had a good start when they won all their opening two matches, beating Lions and Cannons 3-2 and 15-8, respectively, to be in fourth position.

The next league programme will be staged at Mamabolo Rebels Diamonds in GaMphahlele on Sunday.

"We commend our teams for being punctual during the opening matches and further encourage them to be consistent throughout the season.

"Supporters' concerns about some of the matches being staged on Saturdays will be discussed in our next council meeting. We hope the issue will be corrected in the second round," said Polelo Masola, Limpopo Softball Association's secretary general.
