Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
Motor-mouth Walter Mokoena's suspension has been lifted. Last week Sowetan reported that the Soccer Zone presenter was suspended after he made a distasteful joke live on the show about a soccer player who had lost his virginity to a goat.
Mokoena apologised and said the joke was an error of judgment on his part and that it was not his intention to offend anyone.
On Wednesday, Mokoena was called into a meeting by the SABC's human resources department and told that there was a formal complaint lodged with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission by a viewer who was unhappy with his comment.
Tshepo Mabona stood in for him during his suspension.
Mokoena told Sowetan yesterday that he had finished serving his two-week suspension.
"I have learnt my lesson. I will try to make sure that this does not happen again. I love working for the SABC."
SABC sports editor Sizwe Nzimande confirmed that Mokoena's suspension had been lifted.
