The search for a Mpumalanga farm dweller who went missing on September 2 has ended after a skeleton believed to be his was found.

Family members say the clothes found near the bones, which have tooth marks, are similar to those of their missing relative, Samuel Mashangane Khumalo.

Khumalo, 43, disappeared at Stolzburg Farm in Badplaas.

Farm dwellers and community leaders believe the farmers are trying to scare residents away from the farm since they have filed a claim for the land.

Pro Khoza, an ANC councillor, said yesterday that farmers were doing anything in their power to get rid of dwellers.

"We have every reason to believe that Khumalo was fed to lions to scare farm dwellers off," said Khoza.

The bones have been sent to Pretoria for forensic tests.
