Our used test car for this week comes from Auto Pedigree Meadowdale.
Our test car was in good condition. The exterior as well as the interior of the car is spotless and the mileage is low for a vehicle almost three years old. With the clock on 54 000km it's clear that it has not been abused.
There are not many engines as reliable as this one from Toyota.
The inside of the car is clean and doesn't show any sign of damage to any of the panels. The seats still look great and don't have wear and tear marks. And then there's the quality that makes the Toyotas so desirable.
All the controls are easy to operate and within easy reach of the driver.
The outside of the car was scratch free.
The Camry is popular with mothers, family men or young families. It boasts a great boot as well as interior space.
When driving in the city we found the combination of easy gear change and light clutch action to be very pleasant.
On the freeway the four-cylinder, 2,4-litre VVT-i engine seems to be very comfortable at relatively high speeds.
Power output for this size of engine stands at a more than fair 120kW and 210Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
Standard equipment includes dual front airbags, ABS brakes, aircon, electric windows, power steering and a front-loading CD-player.
