SABC1 has finally filled the position of publicist and events manager.
Vukile Madlala has been given to the post.
She started her job on July 1 but the media was only informed on Tuesday.
Asked why it took so long for SABC1 to make the announcement, Madlala, who holds a diploma in media studies from Boston Media House, said she wanted to settle down and learn before going public about her job.
Madlala previously worked for Network BBDO, an advertising agency.
The 32-year-old from Soweto said she was looking forward to the challenges of the station.
"I am very excited about the new challenge. I am looking forward to it."
Asked how he felt about her strict boss, SABC1 general manager Ray Nkwe, she said he was "a cool guy and there is a lot I'm going to learn from him".
Madlala's appointment follows shortly after Simphiwe Mthembu left the station under a cloud.
There were rumours that he was fired after a squabble with Nkwe, but he rejected the claims, saying he was promoted.
He claimed he was the victim of a smear campaign by journalists who wanted money from SABC1 for the stories they wrote.
