Tickets to the final of the inaugural MTN8 tournament, featuring Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have been selling like hot cakes, with less than three weeks left before the big event.

According to the PSL, tickets have been snapped up swiftly, with less than 10000 left by yesterday morning.

The venue, Kings Park Stadium in Durban, has a 52 000 capacity.

The match takes place on September 20.

"We are certainly encouraged by the ticket sales and the fact that fans have not waited for the last moment to get their tickets," said PSL chief executive Kjetil Siem.

"This is a prime example of how fans should approach matches for the future and the fact that the match is likely to be sold out by the end of the week proves to us that fans are getting into the culture of purchasing their tickets early, which is great news with the Fifa World Cup less than two years away."

Fans who fail to buy tickets are encouraged to stay away from the venue.

The match kicks off at 8.15pm and will be televised live on SuperSport and SABC.
