Allow me to voice my anger and disapproval with the way ATMs are being destroyed by ruthless criminals.
Our communities are privileged to have ATMs in the townships, yet the same communities choose to be silent about these bombings.
These criminals are in our communities and some people ignore their presence. It is sad that our communities are ungrateful for all the efforts the banking industry is making to bring their services to the people.
Every time an ATM is destroyed it means extra transport expenses to get to the next one. We cannot allow this to continue.
It is time we stood up and pronounced that enough is enough. Criminals are in the minority and yet we allow them to do as they please.
Let us all support the initiatives of the authorities to stop this menace. We have a legal duty to expose and flush them out for good.
The South African Police Service alone cannot win the battle against these undesirables.
If you are aware of any person who is in possession of the following items, please report them:
l Blasting cartridges;
l Igniter cord;
l Capped fuses;
l Detonating cord; and
l Electric detonators
