Time to mourn

National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) members will be downing tools at one of DRDGold's mines today to mourn the death of a fellow worker who died last week. NUM spokesperson Lesiba Seshoka said: "On Thursday more than 5000 miners will be mourning the death of our colleague who died on duty because it is part of our culture. What is disturbing is that these mining companies don't understand the culture of the people who help them generate wealth." - Kea' Modimoeng
