Sanlam Fashion Week Summer 08-09 officially kicks off tomorrow at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The festivities of the four-day event will begin with the Elle New Talent Awards 2008 in association with Mr Price.

The awards feature six short-listed up-and-coming designers - Tanja Demby, Anisa Mpungwe, Khumo Moshimane, Stephan Marin, Robyn de Klerk and Marize Malan - who will showcase their designs.

An army of buyers, fashionistas, fashion journalists and beautiful people are expected to make their way to South Africa's biggest fashion event.

The starting day of the event is packed full of must-see shows, including Two, Amanda Laird Cherry, House Of Ole, Irmgard Mkhabela and Earthquake.

Thursday is set to be one of the week's most action-packed schedules with well-known labels such as Rubicon and Lebo Mash. Onto Friday, when Athi Patra Ruga is back for another season as is Story. Also on the ramp, among others, will be Black Olive, Abantu and Soda.

The week ends with Colleen Eitzen, Nhlanhla Nciza for NN Vintage, Rjkay Creations, I love Leroy, LISOF and Terrence Bray. Tickets for the shows are available at Computicket.
