Gospel queen Rebecca Malope was honoured with a life time achievers award at the SABC Gospel Music Awards in Durban yesterday.
Malope also won the Best Gospel Artist Award .
Zanele Mbokazi is the founder of the Crown Gospel Music Awards and president of the World Gospel Power House.
The event was hosted with Cell C and supported by the office of the premier, Sowetan and Sunday World.
Other winners were: Best gospel song: Hlengiwe Mhlaba for her album uJesu uyalalela; classic of all time: Mhlaba for Rock of Ages.
Best gospel group: Joyous Celebration; best contemporary traditional: Jabu Hlongwane; best song: Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors; best male artist: Vuyo Mokoena; best praise and worship award: Benjamin Dube.
