Police bust a syndicate of foreign nationals and confiscated goods valued at more than a million rand.
A spokesman for crime intelligence and Interpol, Senior Superintendent Tummi Golding, said yesterday the covert intelligence collection directorate unit and trio-task team on Gauteng's West Rand arrested six suspects in a dawn raid near Kempton Park.
Two eight-ton trucks and expensive collector's items and alcohol were confiscated.
Golding said the syndicate targeted small and large businesses at a warehouse in Kempton Park.
The six men, aged between 35 and 45, are linked to other robberies in the area.
They will appear in the Kempton Park magistrate's court today.
Golding said: "The latest statistics reveal that crime on small businesses has increased.
"Such businesses boost the economy by strengthening growth and sustainability," she said.
Golding said the increase in such crimes was a challenge to all role players, including the SAPS, Business Against Crime, the Justice Department and the community.
"We are working hard to get these criminals and I am warning them that we are on our way."
