Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Emile Baron is dodging maintenance payments, allegedly because his new mother-in-law is henpecking him about his ex-lover and their child.

Bangbroek Baron is so intimi- dated that he has even denied that he fathered the little girl.

But an irate magistrate in the Johannesburg family court told him yesterday: "You must tell your mother-in-law to stay out of this matter. If she keeps on interfering with court matters she will be arrested."

She also instructed the two former lovers to go for blood tests on Monday and return to the same court on October 7.

Baron, who rocked up in court with a wedding ring on his finger and his heavily pregnant wife Cherry on his arm, ditched his former live-in lover Lee-Ann Garcia, mother of his 13-month-old daughter Erin, for his 19-year-old neighbour, who he married.

Garcia told the court that Baron had stopped paying maintenance the minute he met Cherry.

She also told the magistrate that Baron did not show up for blood tests last month.

Garcia said his defiance was due to interference by Baron's new mother-in-law, who is said to be meddling in the goalie's affairs.
