The matron of the Nkhensani Hospital in Limpopo has been kicked out of the house she bought from the provincial department of public works.

Olivia Shivambu said she was taken aback to find her belongings thrown out of the house when she came home on Wednesday morning.

Shivambu, 51, has been living in the house with her four children since 2001.

The house used to belong to the former Gazankulu homeland administration. It is situated at Kremetart in Giyani.

According to Shivambu, the house bond was being debited from her account on a monthly basis.

"So I was surprised to find the sheriff and his people moving my belongings out of the house. They were in possession of an eviction order," she said.

Shivambu said she was not informed of the eviction order before the incident.

"All I know is that I underwent all the necessary processes when I bought the house and at no stage was I told I owed a cent on it."

Shivambu claimed that an official of the department of public works once approached her and demanded sex but she rejected his advances.

She believed her eviction stemmed from her refusal to have sex with the official.

"After I rejected his advances the official kept on intimidating me," she said.

"He also once told me he would deal with me. He said he would give my house to someone else."

Shivambu said she approached a local lawyer for assistance. He too allegedly offered to assist her if she had sex with him first.

"Now I do not know where to get help because it seems everybody wants to have sex with me before they will assist me.

Attempts to reach departmental spokesman Tendani Tshidavhu for comment were unsuccessful.

Sowetan left several messages on her phone but she had not responded by the time of going to press last night.
