I would like to support the DA's proposal to fight crime, which is a menace to society.
We no longer live freely in our communities.
It is a known fact that criminals live in our communities.
As a township guy I know of many of my peers who are involved in crime.
They live the high life and rub shoulders with the big guys in politics, soccer and police agencies.
We, the hard-working people, the so-called 9 to 5ers, are regarded as victims of circumstances.
The DA is right about police visibility and to propose deploying more police officers. But can we afford to pay them more than the criminals do? Do we have the budget to compete with bribes?
The fat cats are too self-centred to help but maybe, by a miracle, the DA will come into power and the fat cats in business will take things seriously.
But we know a white party will never ever rule this country again because we cannot afford to be the laughing stock of Africa by allowing a white person to rule again.
It's time that the DA and its business partners put their energy into helping the ruling party to combat crime and stop scoring cheap political points for doing nothing.
The only viable opposition to take on the ANC is a strong and united black opposition consisting of the ID, UDM and IFP. But owing to position-mongering that will not happen either.
