Dannyboy Boikhutso, who was wanted for a string of alleged crimes, has been arrested.
He was arrested in Mabopane, Pretoria, on Monday evening.
He was allegedly found with a hijacked vehicle, a pump shotgun and several stolen laptops in his possession.
Police spokesman Inspector Matthews Nkoadi said the police were still investigating other crimes that had been linked to Boikhutso.
Boikhutso had earlier escaped from custody after he was arrested for an alleged hijacking and robbery in Mabopane in May.
Police were also looking for him in connection with a kidnapping and the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend.
