Star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns are bracing themselves for war against perennial rivals SuperSport United at Atteridgeville's Super Stadium on Sunday.
The two Tshwane sides battle it out during the MTN8 first leg semifinal match, which is bound to be an exciting affair.
Harris "TV4" Choeu, Sundowns manager, said they were determined to maintain their winning rhythm after the 1-0 quarterfinal win against Free State Stars last Sunday.
Speaking at an open media day at their headquarters in Chloorkop yesterday, Choeu said: "It's gonna be a tough and exciting match, South African soccer supporters will be treated to a five-star performance.
"The two sides have acquired an array of quality players during the off-season to beef up their various departments. United boast experienced players like Anthony Laffour, Klaas Galane, Brent Carelse, Glen Salmon and Oscar Ntwagae, so it's gonna be war on Sunday.
"We are more than ready for the game, which could go either way based on the new acquisitions by the two clubs."
Choeu said injury-prone Sibusiso "Rhee" Zuma will join the rest of his Sundowns teammates at a training session today.
Zuma, who has been nursing a knee injury sustained at training last week, was advised to train on his own for the injury to heal.
The former Bafana Bafana captain has been given the green light by the team's medical personnel to start doing physical training today.
"With the exception of Sibusiso, who remains a doubtful starter, everybody is hard at training and preparing for the game," said Choeu.
Regarding the availability of the once-feared Zambian striker, Collins Mbesuma, Choeu said: "Collins is still on a special training programme.
"We do not want to rush him, we are helping him get back into shape as you are aware that he has not been playing competitive soccer for some time."
Mbesuma was offered a three-year contract by Sundowns last Friday on the recommendation of the club's technical staff.
It was former United striker, Katlego Mphela, who scored the solitary goal when Downs beat Free State Stars to reach Wafa-Wafa semifinals.
In their last match in May, Downs beat United 2-1 in a Nedbank Cup semifinal where Mphela and Siboniso Gaxa were still with Matsatsantsa a Pitori. The duo have since joined Downs.
In another semifinal, Kaizer Chiefs take on Moroka Swallows at Loftus on Saturday.
