Police in Bolobedu are looking for the relatives of Smith Selepe, 22, whose body has been lying in the government mortuary in GaKgapane since May this year.
According to the police Selepe worked at the Clearance Construction Company in Musina and lived in Nama- kgale, Phalaborwa.
Selepe was allegedly killed while visiting his girlfriend in Mothomeng village in the Bolobedu south area.
Police spokesman Captain Freddy Maenetja said Selepe was arrested for drinking in public in Mothomeng while waiting for his girlfriend.
"He paid an admission of guilt fine at the Relela satellite police station and was released," Maenetja said.
He was later attacked and killed at Morutji village while waiting for transport to his girlfriend's place."
On the day he died Selepe was wearing a white T-shirt with maroon and blue stripes, a pair of grey trousers and a pair of white sports shoes.
The police have arrested two men in connection with his death.
"If no one comes forward to identify the body the man will be given a pauper's burial," Maenetja said.
He appealed to Selepe's relatives to call Detective-Inspector Piet Tshabalala at 015-328-7560 or 072-602-4169.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for Rodney Kapa, 11, of Matipane village in Bolobedu, who went missing in May 2004.
