Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral sees a bright future following Amakhosi's 4-0 demolition job over Santos in a MTN 8 quarterfinal match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday evening.

Even though thrilled with the outcome, Ertugral said they were still looking for a top-class striker who would replace Mabhuti Khenyeza.

Khenyeza left the team under for AjaxCape Town.

"We are desperately looking for an international star who will add value to this predominantly youthful team,'' said Ertugral, who smiled from ear to ear during the post-match interview.

On a sad note, Ertugral pointed out that new recruit Valery Nahayo may be out for six weeks after twisting his ankle and was later substituted by Mokete Tsotetsi.

"Nahayo's injury may perhaps need an operation and that will keep him out for a month,'' said Ertugal. He sustained a knee injury.

Gert van Schalkwyk shone like a meteor on Women's Day as he scored a brace and was named man of the match, which goes with R8 000 prize money.

Schalkwyk, who at some stage was demoted to the PSL reserves league, proved to his critics that he is not finished yet.

While the scoreline may seem embarrassing, Santos did not give up without a fight though.

They created anxious moments through the flying Erwin Isaacs, Ealezor Rogers and Dipsy Selolwane.

Generally, Chiefs played like a well-oiled machine and had marvellous build-ups from the rear to front.

Fullback Bhasera Onismor and speedy midfielder Arthur Zwane had Santos defence chasing after their shadows in an attempt to stop the overlapping and elusive duo.

Schalkwyk opened the account as early as the fourth minute of the first period and Jose Torealba added the second in the 22nd minute (2-0).

Chiefs goalie Emile Baron was on holiday as he was protected by his solid defence marshalled by captain Jimmy Tau.

Schalkwyk made it 3-0 in the 26th after collecting a clinical cross from Bhasera and Reneilwe Letsholonyane made the final score 4-0 in the 58th minute.
