The Springbok women's team fought back magnificently in the second half to run against the visiting international side, Nomads, before losing by 40-34 after trailing 29-0

Scoring five tries in the second half, the Boks closed the gap to 37-34 before a last-gasp penalty by the Nomads' wing Non Evans.

The Springboks' fortunes changed after Zandile Njako injected some life into the backline and she was, with fullback Aimee Barritt, the star of the home side.

The Nomads side totally overpowered the Boks in the first half, despite a lack of cohesive team work.

Scorers: SA: Tries: Aimee Barritt (2), Zandile Njako, Pumeza Gadu (2). Conversions: Nadine Barnard (3). Penalty: Barnard.

Nomads: Tries: Fiona Brittan, Joanne O'Sullivan, Sarah Marsh (2), Georgia Stevens. Conversions: Non Ecans (3). Penalties: Evans (3). - Sapa
