Baloyi does a Tyson on Buhlalu

History in local boxing was made for the wrong reason on Saturday night at Park Station.

KwaZulu-Natal boxer, Dumisani Buhlalu, bit Amon Baloyi on his chest and was disqualified immediately for the barbaric act.

No serious damage was done because the mouthguard was still stuck in Buhlalu's mouth as he tried to outdo Mike Tyson.

Tyson bit off a chunk of Evander Holyfield's ear in 1997 after realising that "The Real Deal" was having a serious go at him.

Buhlalu qualifies for the Most Foolish Act award during Boxing SA's yearly awards.

Baloyi was coming back strongly and Buhlalu probably decided that the best thing to do to slow him down was to sink his teeth in his chest when they clinched.

Their fight formed part of a six bout bill of Rainbow Boxing Promotion.
