All Lindokuhle Blose ever wanted was to be a singer. The 16-year-old's dream was to share the stage with R&B sensation Usher Raymond. But that will never happen because Blose is dead.

He was stabbed in the head with a pair of scissors by a fellow pupil at Roodepark High School in Florida on Tuesday. He died of medical complications the following day at Leratong Hospital.

Blose is the third pupil to be stabbed in school violence in the last two weeks.

On Monday another pupil was stabbed to death by a fellow pupil at Senzangakhona High School in Mandela village in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.

Elliot Mbokazi, 17, allegedly quarrelled with an 18-year-old Grade 8 pupil on the school premises. The heated argument led to a fist fight.

The Grade 8 pupil stabbed Mbokazi, who died on the scene. The 18-year-old has been charged with murder.

Last week a pupil at the Kgatelopele Secondary School in Tswelelang near Wolmaransstad in North West, Seun Horst, 17, was stabbed to death in a fight.

Police said the teenager was stabbed by a 19-year-old pupil from a neighbouring school who had allegedly brought two knives, gave one to Horst and forced him to fight.

Horst's family in Emndeni, Soweto is still shocked at how the teenager died.

Diane Mzila, Blose's aunt, could not contain her tears when relating the incident to Sowetan yesterday.

"I got a call from the principal telling me that my nephew had been stabbed in the neck," Mzila said. "I rushed to Leratong Hospital and found him bleeding profusely.

"He could not speak. Doctors told me they were transferring him to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for an emergency operation.

"When we got to the hospital he was turned back. The doctor said they could not operate on him because his brain was swollen due to blood clotting. He was given medication but died the following day in Leratong."

Captain Siphiwe Ndlovu confirmed Blose was stabbed in the head with a pair of scissors.

"The pupil who stabbed him apparently teased him, saying he was fat," Ndlovu said. "They quarrelled and Blose threatened to report him to the class teacher. When he got up to do so he was attacked."

The pupil was arrested and later released into the care of his parents. He appeared in the Roodepoort magistrate's court on Wednesday facing a murder charge.

The case was postponed to August 14.
