In Limpopo more than 5000 people marched through the streets of Polokwane to present a memorandum at both the Eskom and Anglo-Platinum offices.

l In KwaZulu-Natal private vehicles ferried those who opted to go to work since there was no public transport.

lWitbank in Mpumalanga resembled a ghost town as thousands of workers heeded the stayaway call.

Taxi operators and hawkers joined the protest march organised by Cosatu from Lynville Park Stadium in the township to Eskom Park in town.
