The Pan Africanist Youth (Payco) Congress of Azania wishes to express its disappointment at the action taken by certain leaders of the PAC in Botshabelo recently.
They elected a new leadership over and above the existing illegitimate one elected at Fort Hare.
Payco appreciates the frustration and disappointment that members of the PAC feel as a result of the counter-revolutionary actions of Letlapa Mphahlele and his verandah boys. We regard the elections at Fort Hare and the recent ones in Botshabelo as null and void.
Payco continues to call for: Letlapa Mphahlele to step down as PAC president and for restoration of the PAC Constitution. He is the menace that requires the united effort of all committed Pan Africanists to oust, to save the PAC from further destruction.
Payco participated in the Botshabelo conference with the aim of mobilising against Mphahlele and his cronies. We also wanted to devise practical and revolutionary strategies to reposition the PAC, not to elect a new leadership.
We remain committed to the PAC. We call for the unification of all Pan Africanists to form one monolithic PAC that will play a pivotal role in the socio-economic and political life of our country, Azania, and be able to challenge the ruling party.
