People always say that they envy slim people. But as a lanky person myself, I do not see why anyone would want to be skinny.
I weigh enough to qualify as a healthy person. When it comes to clothes I have tried everything, but I still do not know what size I wear. And being tall does not help me in any way.
I used to buy clothes from the kiddies' section, but the problem is the pants don't reach my soles.
If I a lucky to find something that fits perfectly, chances are I will bump into a five-year-old dressed like me. I usually give the little brat an evil look, and then she cries.
When I got tired of being mean to little girls I tried sizes 26 and 28 but they are also too big.
A month ago I bought a pair of size 26 skinny jeans, but they don't look skinny on me. They look baggy.
When petite sizes were launched in stores a few years ago I thought my misery was over, but even they are too big.
I lost all hope last week when I went to an optometrist. When it came to fitting frames none of them fitted. My face is too thin. The only frames that did fit were for kiddies.
I love my body, but sometimes I wish I could wear clothes that fit me without giving kids evil stares.
Conversely, there are people with fuller figures who feel comfortable with their bodies.
Many even draw envious stares, just like their skinnier counterparts. This is because they can dress appropriately and tastefully without draping themselves obviously to cover up their bodies.
The moral: be happy with what God has given you and stop taking yourselves too seriously.
