Youth bring hope through music

Through the Not In Our Lifetime Campaign Festival, young organisers from Africa proved on Sunday that they have the power to change attitudes and touch lives.

The festival took place in Joburg's Newtown Park.

The festival was a success - despite music lovers not turning out in big numbers to support the good cause.

Those who were there were treated to fine African house and hip-hop music.

The youth united the people of Africa and promoted peace and stability through music.

Organised by YFM's Lee Kasumba and hip-hop singer Siyabonga "Slikour" Metana, the festival raised funds for the people who were displaced during the xenophobic violence.

It was also aimed at projecting a positive image of South Africa and Africa.

Not In Our Lifetime succeeded in reminding locals that South Africa thrives on the values of acceptance and respect.

Msanzi's DJ Sbu, Tuks, Mxo, Kwela Tebza, Danny K, Slikour, PRO, KB, Kenya's Necessary Noise, Angola's Kalibraados and Ghana's Tic Tac gave fine performances and earned the appreciation of music lovers.
