Qashqai comes up with a diesel

The Nissan Qashqai has proved to be one of the most loved SUVs in the South African car market since its launch late last year.

Initially available in 1,6-litre and 2,0-litre petrol derivatives, South African consumers will now also have the choice of a 2,0-litre diesel and all mode 4x4.

The 2,0-litre turbodiesel was introduced last week.

There will be two Qashqai 2,0 dCi models - the Acenta and the Tekna.

The Acenta features the same engine unit and is available in 4x2 guise with identical specifications to the 2,0-litre petrol Acenta.

The Tekna, flagship of the range, features all mode 4X4 and is offered with a choice of either leather or cloth trim and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Qashqai 2.0dCi is equipped with a second-generation common rail direct injection motor for improved performance, refinement and low emissions.

The 1995cc diesel unit produces 110kW at 4000rpm.
