The case against more than a hundred South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) members was withdrawn when they appeared in the Port Elizabeth new law court yesterday, the union said.
They were arrested for public violence and trespassing in May, shortly after picketing at the Nelson Mandela Bay 2010 Stadium, said provincial secretary Siphiwo Ndunyana.
The workers were protesting against out-sourcing, the harassment of workers, privatisation, and the finalisation of a job evaluation process.
