Tau has left a big void

Sowetan Reporter

The death of Mabopane businessman Leutamile Marota Tau has left a void that will be very difficult to fill.

Tau was born in Lady Selborne on August 9 1921. He helped many people to acquire licences to operate their own businesses during apartheid. He had many running battles with the authorities.

Tau was educated at St Albans Mission School. His first real venture into business was when he started a fruit and vegetable business. He never looked back and went on to become a successful businessman.

A staunch Anglican Church member, Tau loved music and was involved with the church choir for most of his long life.

He is survived by his wife and seven children. He will be buried tomorrow at Klipgat Cemetery. The service starts at 6.45am at 1430 Block "A" in Mabopane.
